1.   Dr. Victor is a board certified, fellowship trained,
      oculoplastic
surgeon experienced in this specific area
of plastic surgery.  The eyes and areas surrounding
the eyes are very sensitive and require a physician
that is  trained to perform such procedures in order to
obtain a symmetric look.  Dr. Victor often handles
difficult eyelid cases referred by other eye physicians.

2.  In order to determine if you are a candidate for eyelid
surgery, Dr. Victor will perform an examination and
make a diagnosis of your condition.  He will then
discuss with you the risks, benefits, and impact that
surgery would have on your appearance and/or vision.

3.  The recovery period is generally less than a week.
Stitches are removed 5 - 6 days after surgery.  Within a
week after the surgery, the majority of swelling and
     bruising has subsided.

4.  A patient should not drive home after a procedure
because of the medication given during surgery to
for comfort.  Patients can drive the following day if
     desired.

5.  In most cases, both eyes would be operated on at the
same time, if the condition affects both eyes.

6.  Insurance coverage of the surgical procedure depends
on the diagnosis and severity of the condition.  In many
instances, if vision is being impaired, for example, by a
droopy eyelid, insurance will cover the procedure.  A
simple visual field test is performed in the office to
determine the amount of vision blocked by the eyelid
     condition.

7.  The surgical procedure time varies with the type of
     oculoplastic procedure being performed.  Typically,
most procedures last between 45 minutes to 1 hour.

8.  Surgery is performed either at the surgical suite located
inside Victor Eyecare, or at a nearby out-patient facility.
The type of procedure being performed will determine
     the location.
